Rating: Summary: The Best Judy Blume Book I've Ever Read! Review: 10-Year-old Sheila Tubman is spending the summer in Tarrytown. But once she gets there she's in for a real suprise! She finds out the the owners of the house they're renting have a dog. But That's not all. Sheila is afraid of dogs and swimmimg. So her mom signs her up for swimming lessons. And she loves the fact that there's no Peter Hatcher or a Jimmy Fargo!
Rating: Summary: Where? was this book when i was young Review: As I am sitting here at work, I recall a book that I absolutely loved when I was younger, but I couldn't think of the name. I did random searches on Tarrytown (I knew that much about the book), but nothing came to me until I did an off-handed search on Judy Blume and I realized why I picked up the book in the first place. The main character and I share the same name "Sheila" and strangely enough shared so many of the same characteristics. This book talks about the strangeness of preteen years in a way that is both insightful and humurous. I would definitely recommend this book and I think that even though I am now 23, I will pick it up again.
Rating: Summary: The Great Sheila Review: Do you know a good book? Well I do. It's by Judy Blume, and it's called Otherwise Known As Sheila the Great. If you read this, you will love it because it is funny. Sheila has an intersting life. It's about this girl named Sheila. She lives in apartment with her Mom and Dad and weird older sister, who's a perfectionist. Sheila is weird too. She hates dogs. She won't even get in aqn elevator with ba big dog named Turtle. Sheila walked up five flights of stairs on the hottest day of the year because of Turtle. She's so interesting! It was all-most the last day of school and Dad had a surprise. Whar could it be? The surprise was that they would go away for the summer to Dad's boss summer house. Sheila was dreading to go to the house at the end of summer. She did not want to leave because, well, you'll just have to read it! If you like a funny story, this is the book for you. This is the best book. Judy Blume describes and gives little details in the best way. I love this book.I love this book. I have read it at least 5 times. It's the best! So go read it.
Rating: Summary: This is a Great Book! Review: I would reccomend the book, Otherwise Known as Shelia the Great! I started to read it but, it sounded boring. Then two months later I wanted to read something and I picked this book. I got to the fifth or sixth chapter and I kept going. We were on our way to Jamaica so I read the rest of the book! This book is funny, it can teach you, most of all it's good. Let me tell you about it. Shelia Tubman is an average kid going on vacation to Terrytown where her and her parents and sister will stay at a house for the whole summer. Shelia meets a freind who lives down the road from her name, Mouse Ellis. Shelia has to take swimming lessons and she dosen't want to because she thinks she'll drown. Well her mother and father make her take the classes. What will Shelia do? To find out read Otherwise Known as Shelia The Great!
Rating: Summary: Sheila the great review Review: Ok, I was in the store a few months back just browsing. I came across the childrens section, and remembered a book I loved as a kid, Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing, by Judy Blume. So I was just curious to see if they still had it. To my surprise, not onlyt did they have that book, they had a whole section for Judy Blume. Then I remembered this book. I remembered being embarresed as a kid reading it because I thought it was a "girls" book. But let me tell you, this book is still great, even at the age of 31 I still enjoyed it!! In my opinion it is the best in the "Superfudge" series, anmd I would definitly recomend to any child, boy or girl. And BTW, I am no longer embarresed reading this book in public, even if it is on a bus or crowded train!!!

Rating: Summary: This is a perfect book to read over the summer. Review: Sheila is a person who is very worried about how she is perceived by other people. She is unsure of herself, and when she doesn't know something, she tells white lies instead of just admitting it. When her family goes to upstate New York for the summer, Sheila is confronted with her fears of dogs and swimming, and in making new friends she must deal with her worries about herself. You may already be familliar with Sheila from the "Fudge" stories, but this book paints a more in depth, endearing picture of her. As always, Judy Blume uses humor to portray situations that might not be so funny were we in them ourselves.
