Rating: Summary: Improve grades over summer vacation! Review: I found this book so helpful during summer vacation. My 3rd and 4th graders did 2-3 pages twice a week just for review and went back to school confident of their math. My kids actually thanked me for getting them this book. They didn't need the weeks of review most kids did when school started back. Easy to use and fun !
Rating: Summary: Excellent and thorough resource - the title doesn't lie! Review: I homeschool my special needs 6yo son, and this was exactly the right curriculum guide and activity book for math that we needed. It is truly a *complete* overview of math concepts for this age - from geometry, to classification, to ordinals, skip counting, beginning and intermediate levels of addittion and subtraction, time and money, and even an introduction to division and multiplication. Every section has cut-out and manipulative tear-outs. The illustrations are bright, colorful and engaging. The lessons start out with the extremely basic (some would say perhaps below first grade level - numbers recognition, etc.) and progressively get more and more advanced. Each concept has an entire section devoted to it, to allow for plenty of review on any concept your child is having difficulty with. As if that weren't enough, each section ALSO has suggestions for extra activities that will strengthen each lesson in your child's mind. The only thing that would have made this book absolutely perfect is if it had maybe one page per section devoted to the parent/teacher and giving tips on how to approach each lesson concept. Otherwise? It rivals the quality and depth of a lot of math curriculae for homeschoolers that I've seen go for twenty times as much. It's an incredible value and I can't recommend it enough.
