Summary: The ending chapter......
Review: This book confuses me. On the one hand, it's a beautifully written story that satisfied my buring curiosity about the lives of the characters in the previous two Emily books. On the other hand, it's kind of too good to be true. How many kids--even kids with talent, drive, and will--actually get to be successful writers or internationally acclaimed artists just because they want to be? Even more perplexingly, how many of them marry someone from home? The characters themselves are quite realistic, but the situations aren't. I guess I can't really imagine there being only one person out there for someone, just as I can't imagine being married to someone I'd known in junior high. (Thank goodness for that.)

The most confusing thing about this story, however, is the ending. The book goes on and on with ingeniously conceived, beautifully constructed plot twists and characterizations, and then suddenly--it's as though Montgomery's publisher ordered her to have the manuscript ready by tomorrow or else. The book ends definitively, but with no trace of an explanation as to how it got from Point Y to Point Z. This left me with the feeling of waking up in the hospital after a car collision at high speed, feeling fine but with no idea of what had happened to me.

Read this book to entertain yourself and pass the time, but don't expect it to be your most treasured possession.

Summary: A winner
Review: This book was a terrific ending to the Emily series. It really brought out all the depth of her character and painted a better portrait of her than before. I think it is a testimony to her nature that she decided to stay where she was instead of go to New York, I felt sure that moving would have corrupted her and not been in sync with all we already knew about her. I was dissapointed by the end chapter because it seemed a bit unrealistic. Teddy just shows up out of the blue one day? I mean c'mon...and I wished there had been more love episodes with them. I wish there was a fourth book with how Emily's married life would be. All I can say is, whenever I read any book in this series, it makes me feel as if Emily is a real person that I know. I love this series! Read it in order however if you want to get it right.

Summary: Great!
Review: This is truly one of the best books I have ever read. Idisagree with people who say that the Anne of Green Gables series isbetter. I think that the Emily series is much better and I was very sorry it was over. I never knew how good it was until I had finished some book and then just picked Emily of New Moon up because I was so bored. I became absorbed it this, and I read the whole series in two days when I was 9 years old. I recommend any person who really can't find a good book to read to read the Emily series. Start with Emily of New Moon and go to Emily Climbs, and then finally to the best book of the series, Emily's Quest.
