Summary: You've Gotta Read This Book!
Review: but her writing talent falters constantly throughout the book. It's so unbelievable, so fake, it really isn't worth it. She ruins a wonderful, inspiring idea with a bunch of silly names like 'fire-breather' for dragons, and 'shreddermouth' for a croc. Then you have this selfcentered, conceited little boy who won't shut up about 'me me me me me me!' so you get really annoyed and bored. I personally love dragons to death, and having them used as airplanes made me laugh. She had some wonderful creatures in there, and the whole idea of the divide was great, but she tried to make it too childish. Another little pet peeve of mine was that almost everybody's name was two things or items put together, like 'Snakeweed' or 'Stonetalon'; things like that. one or two is ok, but having practically everyone named like that is really annoying and confusing.

Summary: The Divide by Elizabeth Kay
Review: Excellent book. I would highly recommend it for children and adult alike. Elizabeth Kay has brought science, magic and myth to life in one well written story. A young boy with a life threatening disease encounters a world of magic filled with new adventure, new friends and unfortunately new enemies. I only put the book down when I had to. Harry Potter and Martin the Warrior fans will love it. Looking forward to the next book from Elizabeth Kay. :)

Summary: Can you figure out the mystery of the Divide?
Review: Felix is a hero, a kind of hero that you don't hear about a lot. When he falls into the Divide, his new friends and himself go on a life-threatening quest for a cure for his sickness that is taking his life away from him already. This fantasy novel is a classic story that you can pick up again and again and again.

Felix goes on a vacation to the Continental Divide in Costa Rica. But when he accidentally faints over it, he wakes up to find himself in the magical world where everything that is real to him is mythical there. He meets a brazzle (griffin) name Ironclaw and a little tangle-girl (elf) named Betony. Together, they go on a journey to find a cure for his heart sickness while running from one of the most evil creatures in the magical world.

Elizabeth Kay is a very inspiring writer. She has written this book and the new release, Back to the Divide, the sequel to The Divide. Her writing style is very detailed and I like it a lot.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because I was really into this book. It would probably be best for ages 9 and up because it is a complicated plot, but an awesome story.

Summary: The Divide
Review: I am a 5th grade teacher always on the look out for a new book to read to my students. I came across "The Divide" and bought it as much for its interesting cover design as the potentially interesting content. What a great choice! Thankfully I started reading it after school was out for the summer - I couldn't put it down - I could hardly wait to see what happened next. True the characters were not as developed as they could have been, but for those of us that are transported to other worlds when we read, you will still feel like you too have been transported to this land where mythical creatures are real and we humans are considered the myths. A fun and entertaining read.

Summary: The Divide by Elizabeth Kay
Review: I think that the divide was a book that just would not let you put it down. It started when Felix went on vacation to Costa-Rica with his parents and he was mythicly transported into a magicle world full of monters, friends and foes. All around him was forrests and waterfalls and mythicle creatures waiting for someone they can pounce on but that would not happen to Felix because he is smart very intelligent and above all he is a hero.

Do you like fantasy? Do you get tired of reading "Harry Potter" every day? Do you want something that is a fast, good read that has a cool cover and that you can't put down? Then head to the library and find this book! It is the story of a young boy named Felix. Felix has a heart condition that makes him faint and will kill him soon. On a vacation in Costa Rica, he suddenly stumbled into a parallel universe via the continental divide, where fantasy is reality and reality is fantasy. Filled with big brazzles, or griffins, tangle-people, or elves, lickits, worrits, sinistroms, and others. When he arrives, he meets a brazzle named Ironclaw and a tangle-girl named Betony. With the help of his new friends, he will embark on a journey to get rid of his illness and get this world back from Snakeweed, an evil japegrin, who is slowly killing of this world with his "medicine", global panaceas.
If you fit my description, and you aren't reading anything good, you will be if you get The Divide. So quit monkeying around and find it!
When you have finished this book, you can find the sequel, Back to the Divide at a bookstore near you.
