Rating: Summary: For anyone who thinks of their dog as a person. Review: By far the most unforgettable childrens book I have everread. I have been looking for "Ribsy" for some time now...thanks to Amazon the search is over. A "must read" children.
Rating: Summary: This book is NO GOOD! Review: Like I said in the title, this book is NO GOOD! It has no point and I think I got dumber as I read it. Goodbye!
Rating: Summary: If You Want Your Kids to Love Reading..... Review: Like one of the other posters, I was introduced to this book when my 4th grade teacher (Mrs. Evelyn Smith, thank you wherever you are) would read a chapter apiece to us every day after lunch. We were awed into suspence, wondering if poor old Ribsy would ever find his way home. So I later bought the book and occasionally read it to my nephews and nieces nearly 30 years later. If you want your kids to love reading, I suggest that you buy this, read a chapter a night before bedtime, and soon they will want to read it themselves to find out what hapened next. May God Bless the memory of Bevery Cleary.
Rating: Summary: Super Book for Kids Review: Ribsy is a delightful story about a dog who gets lost and finds himself full of adventures while trying to get back to Henry. This was our bedtime story and I would end at each adventure...my son was ready for bed each night so he could find out what was happening with Ribsy. He loved it and your children will love it too! Beverly Cleary is just a brillant writer and she knows exactly how to make children curious along the way.
Rating: Summary: Ribsy Review: Ribsy is a great book about a dog who gets lost in a shopping mall .He finds people who are kind and cruel .All he wants to do is find his beloved Henry ,and get back to his cozy home
Rating: Summary: Acceptable, but not my favorite Beverly Cleary book Review: This book is OK, but I've always gotten impatient with the story. Ribsy jumps in the wrong car at a shopping center, and 4 girls give him a bubble bath against his will. Then he runs away from them and has more adventures with other people who find him. The things that happen to Ribsy in this book are soooo ridiculous, I think in real life he would have been reunited with Henry sooner!
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This book is part of the Henry Huggins series by Beverly Cleary. I read all of those books, when I was a kid and wished I had friends like Henry, Beezus and all the other kids on Klictitat Street (instead of the hoodlums who populated my real world). I enjoyed every one of those books. "Ribsy" tells the tale of how Henry met his dog.
Rating: Summary: not the best, but okay Review: This is not Cleary's best work, but the story of the five children is charming, and, of course, it has a happy ending. The best thing about this book is that it is written, convincingly, from the point-of-view of a dog. It's not as good as Socks (which is about a cat--but then I'm a cat person!), but still good. Poor Ribsy--it's a dog's world.
