Rating: Summary: Unfortunately there will be no more... Review: I am an adult and enjoyed this series a lot. The only thing I can complain about is that Mary Stanton used some characters and places from her book Piper at the Gate. It ruined the series for me a little. Unfortunately there will be no more books, Scholastic was no interested in continuing the series. If you want to read more about the author, visit her website...
Rating: Summary: very good but series needs another installment Review: I loved this book! i own all the other books in the series and have read them all numerous times. i think Mary Stanton should write a book 9 and maybe 10! I want to know what happens after but overall this was a great book!
Rating: Summary: Shadows Over Balinor Review: I've read all of the books in the series, but this is the best by far! I just wish Ms. Stanton would continue with the series! If you haven't read this book or any of the series, What's wrong with you?! It was a wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: YOU CAN'T PUT THE BOOK DOWN! Review: Shadows over Balinor is a great book! it has friendship and love but it also has adventure and fanasty. but i think that the series should go on and tell about how she grows up and finds her parents. this book is also a good book because Ari fights on the the good side and it has talking animals and unicorns (but the magic is one of the best). it's also like you know GIRLS RULE kind of thing going on. Mary Stanton is one of my favorite writers because she makes her books intresting from the very first page. i cannot read a book that is boring from the first page because if it is an exicting book than they won't get very many people reading the book. in other words people write books and they aren't exicting till the middle then people put the book down from being bored and don't get to read the EXICITING part of the book. UNICORNS OF BALINOR RULE!!! I WANT TO THANK MARY STANTON FOR WRITING THESE WONDERFU BOOKS! I HAVE ENJOYED THEM SO MUCH! i rate this book four stars because there is no book that is next in the series after this book.
Rating: Summary: please, please, please don't let this be the end!!! Review: The Unicorns of Balinor is a really great series. Though I read them quickly, they're really cool. But I wish the series would come out with a 9th book!!!! #8 is too much of a cliffhanger!!!! What happens to ari? everyone wants to know!!! soon!!! But for those who haven't read eight yet, I recommend it!!! p.s. if you loved these books i recommend tamora pierce's books too
Rating: Summary: I Love this book Review: this book series is the best. I've read others before but this one really takes the cake! I got the first book about 5 years ago and never read it. when i did, i just HAD to get the rest. I hope Mary Stanton keeps those books coming cause you know i'll be reading them!
Rating: Summary: These keep getting worse and worse.... Review: This book was a terrible ending to this series. It was so awful I wished that I hadn't even started this series.
I finished this series at thirteen, three years ago. Ever since then it has been, to me, an example of how not to write a series.
The first book is very good. If Stanton had kept up to that standard she would have had a great series. Unfortunately, the series is episodic-- it never flows; some of the books have no point in the series (especially this one); and the main point in the series, which is brought up in the first book, is never resolved. With the exception of characters from the first book, Stanton rarely reused her old characters. Instead, she added new characters and abandoned them after the book was over. It is incredibly evident in Shadows with the new "surprise" villian. This book could have been used to tie up loose ends, but it ended up being a waste of my time.
