Rating: Summary: Loving a pet... Review: Grannyman will be enjoyed by anyone who has a cat. My son and I adored the story & illustrations as they reminded us of our own 11 year old siamese. It is a celebration of the unique love between a pet and his owners as well as the circle of life that brought tears to our eyes.
Rating: Summary: sweet and tender Review: Having two older cats, I can appreciate this book and why it was written. Yes, I did get choked up while reading this book to my six year old son. It is an emotional book, sweet and loving. We had checked it out form the library, and now I am purchasing the book because we keep renewing it. My son cannot bear the thought of parting with this book. It touches something in him. I really recommend this book to anyone with a cat in their home.
Rating: Summary: A book I've recommended and shared.... Review: I received this book as a Christmas gift from a friend who knew that I had an ancient Siamese kitty. It made me laugh and it made me cry, and I've since shared it with several of my cat-loving friends. It is beautifully and sensitively written by someone who obviously has cherished a frail, older cat. If you or someone you know loves cats--especially "meezers"--it is a book that will be treasured.
Rating: Summary: For the love of cats Review: I was searching through the children's books looking for one for my g'daughter when I came across Simon and his family. Having had two Siamese cats through my life and experiencing the love given and received, I cried through the first part and then laughed and cried again. What a story! Read and enjoy!

Rating: Summary: The Sweet Tale of an Ancient Feline Review: My daughter (age 4.5) LOVES cats, and ours happen to be Siamese, like the Grannyman. One of our cats is ancient,so this is a wonderful book to prompt discussion of what happens when kitties get really old! It's also a really sweet story of a tender-hearted cat who is very loved by his family and who has great love in his heart as well! My daughter loves the pages with the baby kitten, and she wants to read this 4 or 5 times every day! Illustrations are terrific. This book is a must for anyone who loves cats in general and Siamese in particular!

Rating: Summary: Awesome, touching book Review: My kindergartener borrowed this book from the school library. We fell so in love with it that I bought two copies, one for her and one for me! It's not just about cats; it's about youth, aging, and living a fulfilling life. A must have for home libraries. The pictures are awesome, and the story is so touching. Completely irresistible.
Rating: Summary: remember it's only a story :) Review: Our four- and six-year-olds adored this book and asked us to read it over and over--which was difficult for me, as it kept making me cry. The artwork in this book is just beautiful, and the story of Simon and his loving family is very sweet. One "real-life" caution, however--I hope this book doesn't necessarily inspire families (particularly urged by their children) to get kittens for their aging cats, because it doesn't always work out as nicely as it did for Simon.
Rating: Summary: A touching feline tale.... Review: This book brought tears my eyes and also made me smile. It is for anyone who has loved an elderly cat and appreciated the joys of a frisky new kitten. Children will enjoy the idea of a cat taking care of a kitten and all readers will admire the watercolor illustrations. Through text and pictures the spirit of both cats is nicely captured!
