Summary: i don't know why...
Review: ...but my daughter loves reading this book. We have a lot of the books in the "Bright and Early" series, and she loves them all.

The text is very easy for little eyes to read. Nice and big.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fun and Easy to Read
Review: My son is 2 and loves books. This has now become his favorite book! He laughed the first time I read it to him and he now "reads" it to me (he has memorized the entire book!). He loves that he can "read" it and still laughs at the story. Of course, now everything in his everyday life is "too scratchy" or "too bumpy".
Great book for beginning readers.

Summary: Beloved story
Review: My son loved this book three or four years after it was first published. His son loves it 25 years later. I can probably recite the entire text by heart ... each new hat being rejected as "too tall, too flat", "too heavy, too light" ... pictures of the unacceptable hats on the Berenstain books are absolutely right for a child's humor.

Summary: Old hat New hat
Review: The story of this book was that he went to go look for a new hat for his old one, he looked and looked ,but could not find a new one all he wanted is his old hat.

This book thought me that new thing's aren't always better then old thing's.

The age level for this book is 3-6.

I would recommend this book for a young one.

Summary: Lessons in Haberdasheries!!!!
Review: This is a great little book, and it's lots of fun too. I have always like the Berenstain Bears, and this book is no exception. The artwork is wonderful, and the most intriguing part of the book is how the character enters the store with his own hat on and leaves with the same one attached to his head. And in between it is all the different kinds of hats, and the multi-colored and diverse types and shapes of hats, plus the rhymes which go with it. It's not a profound story, but the kids love to see the hats and the primary colors. It's astounding and FUN!!! Highly recommended!!!

Summary: The first book my son "read"
Review: This is the first book my then 2 year old son "read" all by himself & I've captured it on video which he watches with delight. He must have been so proud of himself he later went on to read independently by 3. He's now 5 and reading Dick King-Smith and The Magic Tree House books and Wayside School stories and World Book entries and anything he lays his hands on.

It's about a bear with a tatty hat who goes into a store to buy a new hat. The salesman shows him many hats which he rejects as being too big, too small, too flat, too tall, etc. It's a great way to introduce adjectives and rhyme and improve memory and boost confidence too. It comes with a surprise ending too. it's a very simple book, but perhaps that's the beauty of it - that it can do so much with so little.

Summary: Old Hat - New Hat : The Berenstain Bears
Review: When my children were little they loved this book. Over the years there have been many occasions that have spured someone to recall the title of this beloved story. It always brings a smile to our faces.

I have since purchased other copies for my grandchildren.
