Rating: Summary: An excellent book especially for teachers to use Review: I found this book wonderful to use for teaching third grade map skills even if just used as a read aloud. Follow-up activities could easily be implemented from this book. The only thing to be warned about is that in the Peter Pan map, the Native Americans are called "Indians", but then again thats from Peter Pan. But I fell in love with the book for its content and purpose.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful book!! Review: I hope the author writes a follow up to this book because my 4 year old, my husband and I are enchanted by the concept. We have taught her how to use the legend and how to find things using the letters and numbers. There are only six maps, but there are plenty of little, wonderful details on each page. Buy this book, it's wonderful fun and a wonderful learning tool.
Rating: Summary: Unexpected Treasure Review: I stumbled on this accidentally and thought it looked rather neat. I could imagine it a great way to help teach kids map skills. It is 6 maps of fairy tale lands, each map has a set of directions to find a treasure at the end. The format of the book is a bit problematic as the illustrations are rather small, making the directions harder to follow and the spine creates a problem when measuring distances on the map, as it is right in the middle of said maps. All in all a very neat idea.
Rating: Summary: Great for those who are into searching for buried treasure Review: My son is currently 6 and we had a blast reading this book. He loves playing pirates and he loves pretending to use a treasure map so this book was right up his alley. It requires adult interaction - which is great! Together we worked our way through this book. I'd see him still looking at all the details of each map long after I'd said goodnight. I wish there were more books of this nature that are appropriate for early elementary school-aged kids.
