Rating: Summary: Wonderful story for girls! Review: I checked this book out from my school library 30 years ago. I loved it and read it start to finish in just a few days. Unfortunately, although I remembered and treasured much of the storyline, I forgot the title. About 10 years ago, I came across this book in another library while my stepdaughter and I were looking for books for me to read aloud to her. We read it cover to cover, but not realizing that I would desire to read it again, I again forgot the name. I now have a 7 year old daughter who treasures our reading time. I have done websearches, library searches, and scanned used bookstore shelves for the remembered pale pink spine of this book. Tonight, I was looking through a second grade school bookclub catalog with my daughter and was THERE IT WAS--it no longer has the pale pink spine, but the title jumped out to me. I cannot wait for it to arrive to relive this delightful story for a third time!
Rating: Summary: The most magical book! Review: I had forgotten all about this book. Today at the library, I saw it amidst some donated paperback books that were for sale. Immediately, I had a flood of memories from when I was seven!! (The kind of occurence that happens so rarely in ones lifetime.) The elbow kissing, the tiny little dog collar, the warm fuzzy feelings I remember from when I read the book. I'm going to read it again right now! My daughter is 8 and just the right age. Kismit?
Rating: Summary: Very entertaining! Review: I have two girls (ages 6 & 8), and we read a chapter of this book nearly every night, and we LOVED it! The characters were very memorable, and the storyline was very entertaining. I highly recommend this book. It will keep your kids attention and leave them begging for more. This is also a wonderful introduction to fantasy for young kids (talking animals and magic). Enjoy! - A Happy Mom!
Rating: Summary: Fond memories of this childhood favorite! Review: I read "No Flying In The House" over 30 years ago, in the original edition, and I can still remember holding the hardcover pale pink book, with the beautiful illustrations. I loved it and read the book over and over. It was my favorite book as a child, and a number of years ago I searched for it in stores (having lost my copy years ago), without luck. Now I have two daughters and I am thrilled to find that I can order this book on line!! If you have daughters, this is a book not to be missed, as it is filled with love and hope and mystery and tenderness and joy -- the stuff dreams are made of.
Rating: Summary: Stumbled across a very happy memory! Review: I was actually searching for a children's book on flying for an upcoming trip that we're taking my son on, and this title popped up. Oh, what happy memories I have of this book! I can't remember how many times I read it as a child. I might just have to reorder it for old times sake. Definitely a children's classic that will stick with you for a long time!

Rating: Summary: An Overlooked Classic! Review: More people should know about this wonderful book! I first read it when I was in second grade, and I loved it so much I begged my mom to special order a copy for me from the bookstore so I didn't have to keep checking it out millions of times from the school library. The story is so simple, a traditional fairy tale, really, but at the same time unusual, charming, and so enthralling I remember reading it under the covers with my flashlight because I could not sleep until I knew what would happen in the end.
Rating: Summary: have been looking for over fifteen years Review: My favorite book in the whole wide world is "No Flying in the House". I just finished it on June 10th 2002. I was crying after the ending it was so good, and this is the truth. Even my brother liked it; he liked the cat the best. I liked Gloria and Annabell Tippens. Every single night I begged my Dad to read more and more. I recommend this book for anyone. -Reviewed by my eight year old daughter
Rating: Summary: Couldn't have grown up without it! Review: This is the one book I remember most growing up. I had worn out my paperback copy & have searched for YEARS for another!! FINALLY! Thank you, amazon.com!! This book sparked my imagination & Gloria was the first dog I ever loved!! (Soon followed by many "real" dogs in my life.) My FAVORITE book -- which didn't go over very well in job interviews when they asked that question!! :) Well, that just shows they hadn't read it!! I STILL can't kiss my elbows, but I do fly in my dreams!! You will, too, after you read it! ENJOY!
Rating: Summary: The Green Group from Dairyland Review! Review: We liked this book because it was a fairy tale. It was cool because it was about a dog that talks and did 367 tricks! It was about a girl that has a dog that acts like her mother. The girl is lonely because she doesn't have her parents. A cat tells her that she has special powers and that she is half fairy and half mortal. The little girl finds out that if she chooses to a mortal her parents will return from the Island of Exile. This book was sad, but had a really, really, really good ending!!! There is a secret surprise at the end! We would recommend that all of our friends read this book! We wish that there was a part 2, 3, 4, and 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
