Review: McDermott's Papagayo is our favorite of his spectacular books for the 4-8 year olds (we have them all). His illustrations are brilliant, even suitable for framing. Caution may be in order, however, for younger children or those "afraid of the dark" or "monsters". This mythological tale is a bit spooky--we love it!

Review: This was my favorite book as a child. While moving out of my parent's house a while back, I stumbled across it and re-read it. Whenever I have children of my own, this will be the first thing I read to them.
