Summary: crappie catching fun
Review: Swear to Howdy was a very dramatic, funny, and exciting book to read. The book is about a boy named Rusty who moves to town and he becomes friends with another boy named Joey. Joey and Rusty have exciting adventures and some bad things happen in this book. One of there advenures is that they go shooting squirrels and end up shooting some thing they weren't supposed to shoot.

I like this book and I think a lot of people would like it if they read it. I just wanted to keep reading and not stop. This book would interest any teenager, boy or girl. This book made me think that you need to keep your friends close and don't lie.

Summary: You will never want to put this book down!
Review: The book Swear To Howdy by Wendlelin Draanen is funny, awesome, and enjoyable. This book is about two boys named Rusty Cooper and Joey Banks. Joey and Rusty have one older sister each. Their names are Amanda Jane and Jenna Mae, but they call Jenna Mae "Sissy". The boys love to play pranks and jokes on the girls. Amanda Jane and Jenna Mae became The Dimond Dolls until the boys got them fired. I absolutely love this book because its cool and it really makes you think about how good we all have life. The audience I would like to recommend for this book is anybody from the ages 14-adult.

Summary: Frog Squishin' Fun
Review: I think that Wendelin Van Draanen did a very good job explaining and describing Swear to Howdy. For example, when Joey found Tank, his pet frog, he picked him up and he pooped all over the front of Joey's shirt. They said it looked like green tomatoes. It is a very funny book, and close to the end it gets sad and dramatic.
I liked this book because I could see the pictures in my head and I didn't get lost once. I think that teens would understand the book better than younger kids, because it has some words that younger kids wouldn't understand.

Summary: Wow! this was a really good book!
Review: Wendelin Van Draanen is the author of the book Swear To Howdy. To describe the book Swear To Howdy, I would say it was funny, exciting and very sad. This book is very hard to putt down. In the book Swear To Howdy there are a lot of funny things that happen to teenage girls that have younger brothers. The things that happen in the book remind me of some things my brother would do to me. The boys, Rusty and Joey do a lot of things that ordinary 11 and 12 year old boys do, only a couple of things they do in the book get a little carried away, and so bad things happen. Some things in this book made me realize how much I really love my brother and sister and how I should appreciate them. This book also made me realize I should think about the consequences of things before I do them. This book was so good! It was almost real when I was reading it, like I could picture everything that happened. I don't like to read very much, but this book really interested me. I really liked it a lot. This book is appropriate for almost anyone. Younger kids, school-age and up might enjoy having it read aloud to them. There is some cussing in the book but not a lot. Most likely teenagers and adults would love this book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Wow I think the author described this book really well.
Review: It was interesting, curious, and funny. The author described it so well I could picture it in my mind. For example, in the beginning Joey gets bit in the privates and the fish clamps on. I could smell and hear the river that they were at.
I would recomend this book for teenagers and older because it has some swear words, peer presure, and other teen topics and issues.

Summary: Two boys Two sisters One river and a lot of trouble
Review: The book Swear to Howdy by author Wendelin Van Draanen is very funny because of the way she puts the events in the book. It keeps you at the edge of your seat wondering about what will happen next. The events in this book are not only funny, but dramatic. This book is mostly about two friends who like to pick on their sisters a lot and try not to get caught, but end up getting other people in trouble besides themselves. This book ends in a way you would never expect for the way it starts out.
I thought this book was very good. It kept me interested, laughing, and got me scared at certain moments. I think the audience for this book would be mostly for teenagers, both boys and girls. This book made me have a lot of respct for kids who have abusive parents.

Summary: Youve got to read this!!!
Review: Swear to Howdy by Wendelin Van Drannen is a funny, dramatic, thriller. The book takes place in the present time and in a small town. There are two boys that are best friends. They do everything together. They pull pranks on their older sisters, they shoot guns, they swim at the river together. Until something devastating happens and they stop hanging out.

I thought it was a good book. Because it was so real like when they went to swim at the river, hang out all the time , and pull pranks. It is for boys and girls over thirteen because people that are too young usually cant relate to some things that happen. From this book you will learn how much you should enjoy your life and family because it can be gone in a snap.

Summary: A Lesson in Friendship
Review: Swear to Howdy is a story about Rusty and Joey, two boys who are neighbors and quickly become friends. They pull pranks and run around together, doing normal boy things and having fun. Then one of Joey's pranks goes too far, and it results in a tragedy. It takes Rusty and Joey and both their families a long time to recover from the horrible accident. Swear to Howdy surprised me because by looking at the cover, I thought it would be a happy story because it was bright yellow. But it turned out to be pretty sad in a lot of parts. It ends all right, but only in the last 2 or 3 pages or so. Overall I think it was pretty well-written, but I would have liked the story to be more optimistic. It has a well-developed plot and storyline, and it kept me interested because I read it in one afternoon. I would reccommend this book for other kids to read, but don't read it if you want a really happy book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Swear to Howdy I Won't Tell Anyone
Review: Swear to Howdy written by Wendelin Van Draanen was a great book. Its tell you about how two younger boys grew up together and always fought with thier older sisters. Until one day something tragic happens.

I thought the book was a really meaningful and very interesting book. I liked it when Rusty-boy finally fessed up about everything. It made me think of myself and some of the bad things I've done and not told anyone about. So all and all this book would probably be more for a teenage female. I wouldn't recommend it for younger children due to a few swear words.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Two boys, One town, One river, and alot of TROUBLE.
Review: The author of Swear to Howdy is Wendelin Van Draanen. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and you wouldn't want to stop reading it. Swear to Howdy is very comical. This book has some depressing and sad things that happen. A boy moved to a small town called Lost River which was named after the river that the town is near and his name was Russell Cooper. He made good friends with his new next door neighbor Joey Banks. Both Joey and Russ had sisters who were cruel. Their names were Amanda Jane, Joey sister and Jenna Mae, Russ's sister or "sissy" as everyone calls her. Joey and Russ didn't know that this was going to be the most tragic summer of their lives.
I liked this book because it is funny and it kept me on the edge of my seat when I read it. I think this book is mainly for teens but younger children can read it as well as adults. This book made me think things through before they act.
