Summary: A GREAT book, teaches children of extinction turtles face
Review: Tammy Turtle is a book about a loggerhead turtle, which follows her life from hatching to reproduction. Amazingly, Tammy returns to the same beach where she hatched to lay her eggs. While at the beach, she finds her sister, whom she had not seen since their race to the sea. This book is informative, teaching children about the reproduction cycle of turtles, how humans help them in their fight for survival, and how litter poses a serious threat to turtles. Children learn how they can help animals by not littering. One can easily go online and develop a lesson plan focusing on TAMMY TURTLE. My plan includes geography (map of loggerhead turtle habitats), dexterity (coloring sheets), and basic math (dot to dots).
