Summary: Stealing Home
Review: In the beginning, Grandfather and his grandson named Thomas, are living together. Soon into the book they realized the pest cleaning sister-in-law, Linzy is coming for a visit. She hasn't been to Florida or anywhere in fact from Chicago in sixty years so after losing her Liberian's job they think she might be having a longer visit then welcome.
When Linzy comes, she immediately starts to complain and it takes Grandfather a lot to not completely explode until she suggests Thomas ride in the back of the pick up with the luggage. Thomas also is trying to be polite even though it seems to him she is finding every way to push his buttons even after he gave up his room and his cat which was only a bonus. At least only a bonus to Linzy not to Thomas. Grandfather is trying to calm Thomas but Thomas is just getting more frustrated.
I liked the story line a lot. It is a great for the encouraging baseball player or fan or fishing fan. It is a fight between the old enemies that have to live with each other and be polite. Well, only one side is being nice. Great book, the only thing reading level was much lower then I'm use to. I would say it is a great book for eight to ten year olds. I would recommend it.

Summary: Boring
Review: The name of the book I read is Stealing Home. The author of the book is Mary Stolz. The main character's name is Thomas. He is a huge baseball fan and he wants the Pittsburg Pirates to win the pennant. Thomas is 10 years old and lives with his grandfather. I think that this book is kind of boring so I would rate this book a low low 2 star.To all of you people who that like to read books you should not I mean not read this book cause it is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...... the whole time. I really don't know many other books that are related to this book. So I can't really help you with that. During this book they talk about how they like the Cubs so much since they are winning all of the games. At the end it was so easy to notice what was going to happen cause it happens in almost all books. In my book the thing that is going on is sterotype cause he doesn't like his aunt cause she does everything possible to annoy him and his grandfather.

Summary: An interesting book about change
Review: This is a novel about a boy named Thomas who lost his parents at age 1 and has lived with his grandfather since then. He and his grandfather have developed similar interests (baseball, fishing, games) and have become very comfortable with their bachelor-type lifestyle. Then a great aunt comes to live in their cramped house. All sorts of adjustments have to be made and Thomas is not happy with the situation. After numerous struggles, Thomas learns that his aunt actually contributes to the benefit of the household in some ways, and that not all change is bad. In short, the characters begin to make allowances for each other. At that point in the book the aunt gets a job offer complete with lodging, and Thomas is left to ponder what has happened over the last year. The book does assume the reader is familiar with baseball terminology, as the boy and his grandfather discuss the professional baseball scene occasionally. The book is appropriate for about the fourth/fifth grade reading level. While it is not one of the first books I would choose for my children to read, it was enjoyable overall, and I believe it holds value for children of this age, especially for those who have never had to make any sort of major change or adjustment in their lives.
