Rating: Summary: A must have for first libraries Review: (...) After a long day, it's a special book to read - the bright illustrations and joyful prose always make me smile. A great gift book for expecting parents and young children. The book's happy prose willentice any child to play "wombat" and act out the story. I read this to a preschool class and had them act out the story as I read it, ending with "curling up in a ball" for naptime. I could see doing this with a young child before naptime or bedtime.

Rating: Summary: It always makes me smile! Review: I've had this book since I was 4 months old and now that I'm one I still love it. It's the only book that makes me stop what I'm doing and listen (I'm usually very busy playing with my toys). My Mum and Dad use the lines in the book to calm me at night when I'm a little bit upset and it always works. Of all the books I own, this is my favourite.
Rating: Summary: He LOVES it! Review: My 11-month-old just LOVES the pictures in this book!! This became his overnight favorite (beating out the Barnyard Dance which is also a great book). He laughs, and laughs, and laughs at all the silly things Wombat does...
Rating: Summary: 3 yr old & 5 yr old favorite Review: My 5 year old reads this book and just cackles. My 3 year old points out everything. Great illustrations, great expressions, great book.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Review: This book has been perfect since my daughter was born. At 11 months she loved to copy the faces (sticking out her tongue) and now she's 18 months now and loves to point out all the animals. Plus it's my favorite!
Rating: Summary: It always makes me smile! Review: This book has such cute, whimsical drawings that are a joy to look at. The story is based on the day of a Wombat and about how he plays and has fun with his friends. The drawback is that it sounds like it should rhyme and most of it does (i.e. FAST & LAST, FALL & SMALL) but about half of it does not (i.e. CAN & LAND, LOUD & SOUNDS). So that does get on my nerves a little bit but the pictures & story definetly makes up for that & therefore I give it 5 stars!! The cutest part is at the end which is truly heart warming! I would highly recommend this & my 6 month old loves it and I am sure we will get years of reading out of this one!

Rating: Summary: One of my little girls favorites Review: This is a must-have for baby's library. Very rhythmic in terms of tempo and rhyming, so even if your baby is too young to understand the words, they will enjoy the rhythm. And when they are older, they will enjoy the story. It's a very sweet book about all sorts of things that are fun to do, loud things, messy things, etc, but sometimes babies just like to curl up with a parent where they feel safe and secure. Aww... :-)
