Review: This is an excellent collection of daily lessons that provide instruction and drill and practice of mental arithmetic. If your student can add and subtract but needs to jump to the next level of automaticity and mastery, this book is for you. Each lesson took my second grade son and I about 30 minutes to complete. Then he took around another 30 minutes to complete the drill and practice problems on his own. There are 36 lessons total. The practice sheets can be copied and recopied for more practice when needed. This resource is appropriate for teachers with large groups of children, teachers with small groups of children, parents wishing to provide extra drill in the evenings, private tutors, and homeschoolers. The lessons are scripted and tell the instructor exactly what to say during the instruction and answers to all problems are provided immediately. I am looking forward to acquiring the sequels to this text.
