Summary: The Original Adventures of Hank the Cowdog
Review: In the day and age of video games, it was very refreshing to see my 10 year old son read this book with excitement and without being told to "go read"! He can't wait to read other books in the series!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very funny, worth reading
Review: My wife and I have read everything we can get our hands on about Hank the COwdog. Hank is the "Head of Ranch Security" on a small farm/ranch where he always gets into trouble trying to teach the new pup on the ranch the ropes, and avoid the house cat that gets into things and frames Hank in the process. These are hilarious stories that the whole family can enjoy. I highly recommend reading anything with Hank as the main character.

Summary: Mamas Don't Let Your Puppies Grow Up to be Cowdogs
Review: This is a humorous story from the point of view of Hank, the Cowdog, detective and protector of all within his territory. He takes the weight of the ranch on his shoulders trying to save the chickens from being murdered by coyotes. He is mistaken, misunderstood and maligned until he finally joins the enemy.

Children with the Cinderella-syndrome may relate to Hank as he complains of how nobody appreciates him and how they will not be able to get along without him once he runs away. Relationships between Hank and the farm cat, other dogs, and his owners are well-developed and entertaining.
