Summary: NO ONE TOPS LEAR AT NONSENSE VERSE
Review: Nothing is much more enjoyable for both adults and children than the classic nonsense verse of the inimitable Edward Lear.

Three of Lear's best, including "The Owl and the Pussycat," are brought to colorful life in this smile-provoking volume illustrated by Fred Marcellino. Marvelous color-washed pictures bring pink Piggywig and the regal King Crane in his hilarious pea-green trousers to hilarious life.

A laugh a page, for sure.

Summary: A book a parent won't mind having to read over and over
Review: Truly book that will be equally enjoyed by the parent as well as the child. The three stories are amusing, absurd and even touching in places. The book is wonderfully illustrated. But the best part comes in just saying the words aloud. Similiar to books like GoodNight Moon, for example, one become more appreciative of the beauty of the cadence of the verse, the more often one reads it. I find it a simple joy just to read the words aloud (and my 3 year old thinks the naked guy is pretty funny!).
