Summary: favorite of my american kids and their eurocentric parents
Review: This is a book I loved when I was a child (in the 60's) and that I am now reading to my children. I love it for the old-fashioned 'french'iness (Babar drives an old citroen car, dinner is a mandatory family affair - even if a kid has fallen asleep beforehand etc). But my children (4 and 8) also love it, like the story line and always find something else to see and point out in the illustrations. (this review refers to the French edition)(Highschool french is sufficient though to translate on the spot)
