Summary: Wild and Free
Review: I enjoyed the book very much. It was interesting and exciting. Mustangs are wonderful creatures, and I am glad that some one has finally written a down to earth story about them. Most of the reviews to this book are positive, but some are not. Any book would sound bad if you wrote it as if it were the most boring thing that crawled off the shelf. My suggestion to horse lovers out there, don't listen to them. I live in Nevada myself, and I feel that I can relate to these books better than I can to ones about horse shows and healing horses, and such things like that. This is an amazing book, that leads to wonderful adventures with Sam and the mysterious Phantom. I have read all of the series, and anticipate the arrival of the next. I hope that Terri Farley will never stop writing these books.
The Wild One is about a girl named Sam who fell off of her young horse named Blackie. She was kicked in the head by him. Her father was worried about her, since they lived on a ranch in Nevada, they weren't very close to any hospitals, so if Sam had any problems at all then they wouldn't be able to help her in time. Her dad and grandmother sent her off to live with her aunt in California, where she'll be safer. Now she has come back after two years, and still wonders about Blackie, who disappeared after their accident. One night a mysterious silver stallion comes to her. She believes he is her Blackie, grown up and gone wild. They soon bond by a secret name they only Sam knows. The adventures lead from there, continuing from one book to another. They're all different, and very interesting. I highly recommend this book. It was great.

Summary: An awesome read for the young horse enthusiast!
Review: I have loved horses my whole life and when I can't be around my own horse, I thoroughly enjoy reading horse books. When I first started reading this book, I thought it would be just another series, just like all the others. Boy was I wrong! I found that Ms. Farley's first book in this series to be exciting, emotional and gripping from start to finish. Terri Farley is an excellent author who knows just what to write to keep the reader's attention. I found that I was able to relate to the bond shared between Sam, the main character of the book, and her horse, the legendary "Phantom". The book was full of surprises and had an extremely well-thought-out plot and storyline. I would strongly recommend this book for young teens such as myself, and even for horse-crazy adult readers. It would also make a great holiday gift for the horse lover in your family.

Summary: best book ever!!!
Review: I really liked this book! Terri did an awsome job on this series!
Samantha (sam) forster has come home after a long two years in San Francisco. Because of a riding accident, everyone is very (overly) protective of her, espesially her pal Jake Ely. Jake (as well as various other people) blames himself for her accident because he was riding with her when it happened.
Then a wild horse called the Phantom comes to her in the middle of the night, not just once either. Sam beleives it is her colt Blackie (Zanzibar) grown up, and wild.
A nearby rancher (Slocum) wants the Phantom for himself, so he hires a cowboy (Flick) to work for the BLM and capture him.
The Phantom is caught and Sam saves him from Slocum (with the help of her buddy Jake) and from captivity, leading him too freedom on her cow pony Ace.
This is a wonderful book and I recomend it to anyone. Even if you don't like horses

Summary: Anyone who knows horses will love this book.
Review: I've read three of Mrs. Farley's other books, and this one is the best. We went to see the wild horses in Nevada last year, and The Wild One really shows what it's like there. Sam is smart and tough but she's not good at math (like me!), and I learned alot about mustangs reading this book. There are so many surprises in the story. My friends and I were all glad when we found out there would be more Phantom Stallion books.

Summary: This book rocks
Review: Never in all my years have I read a book this good. Well, thats not true...The tenth book, Red Feather Filly, is the best book ever written. Ever. Many of you are laughing at me. Go ahead. You'll laugh plenty more when you read this book. You'll laugh, you'll worry, and if you have any sense you'll love it.

Summary: humor, truth, fantasy
Review: This book isn't for the prissy horse owner. Not for the person who has a closed mind, and not for someone who thinks bucking is easy to ride out, and can be easily cured. Sam is a hero when she rides Ace's bucking fits, that part got me. I love alot of differant horse books, but I have never seen one that really expresses how much the horse tests the rider. Until I read this book, I own a pony, about Ace's size, who bucked alot. I never rode the bucks I would get off, shaking, and not ride for a month. Well, we sent her to get trained, she came back and did the same thing, (even though I rode her there)this time, I knew I could ride them. I stuck on, rode everyday, and she hasn't bucked since. There's the humor and truth in this book. The fanasty is the next element, who hasn't dreamed of having a friend of a wild grey stallion who only trusts you? There the fantasy comes in. Humor, Truth, and Fanatasy, thats what makes this book, and all the ones after it, treasures.
