Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great beginning chapter book series
Review: Peter Clover brings a girl and her loveable pony to life in this chapter book series. The plot is easy to follow. Each chapter left my 7 year old ready to find out "what's next!" A bit of mystery and pony-antics keep the reader's interest. Although it is not necessary to read them in order, do note that this is part of a series. Activity pages at the end of the book allow readers to review what happened through various questions. Extended ideas give young ones ideas on projects (like a collage of horse pictures from magazines). The reading level is probably first/second grade. Wonderful pictures here and there can take it from a parent read for the pre-schooler to an enjoyable "quick read" for the third or fourth grader. Highly recommended for a children's book. We look forward to each new book in the series!
