Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Recommended for Teacher Education Multicultural classes
Review: Silly Mammo, the first children's book published in the Ethiopian language, is a gem of a find. I recommend it for my multicultural education classes at the college level and, in fact, last year bought copies for the entire class. Teacher education students at the elementary level are always thrilled to find resources that titillate children's imagination, and this one does that. The story is preposterously funny, especially for young ones. The best part, as mentioned, in another review above, is that all proceeds go to benefit the Ethiopian Books for Children & Educational Foundation. I recommend Silly Mammo for its multicultural content, its presentation, and its altruistic endeavors.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Cross Culture folktales
Review: This was a fun book to read. I loved that the author chose to write it in both languages. I teach at a school that has had a few Ethiopian children. We are expecting an influx of more this school year. This book makes me excited that I have something to share of their culture and compare to the American culture as well. It was difficult to choose between four and five stars because this is the first children's book I've seen about/from Ethiopia. I reserve the fifth star for simply superb books. Silly Mammo didn't quite get there for me.
