Summary: Pictures for Children, Writing for Adults
Review: While the illustrations are enticing and perhaps fun for children, I think the writing is aimed at adults. The one sentence per page is a good idea for young children, but... Why must every cat book have a cat trying to attack/fight a bird (this small book has two such pages, one of which the adult could explain differently.)? Why talk about nightmares instead of just saying crazy/weird/funny/odd dreams? Why say the cat "doesn't save wrapping paper," when it would be just as appropriate to the illustration and more to a child's mind to say it would "rather play with the wrapping paper?"
