Summary: delightful! and not at all heavy-handed
Review: this book is a real treat. it's not only an imaginative journey about things that might have happened during those 40 days on the ark, but it has a sweet sense of humor and buried layers of meaning. the ten stories it tells in its chapters are actually all retellings of other bible stories (all old testament, so the book is appropriate for jews and christians alike) -- so there's a skunk named samson with special powers that delilah figures out, a polar bear named abraham who's told to go to a place he does not know, etc. its lessons are very universal, so -- as long as the reader is someone with a basic belief in the judeochristian interpretation of God -- it's completely enjoyable w/o feeling like you're sitting down for a bible lesson.
