Summary: Loved by kids and parents alike!
Review: As my husband and I read this book to my 4-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, they just couldn't stop giggling at all the silliness. My daughter continues to run lines from it (and others in the Princess Tale series) and has dubbed our baby a Baby of Action from a line in this book. I love a book that doesn't put the grown-ups to sleep while we're reading aloud, and this one certainly qualifies! What a romp!

Summary: Horrible book
Review: I am definitely in the minority, but I found this book atrocious. I was reading it to my 5 & 7 year old daughters and I was appalled by a passage on page 21. It reads, "She refused to breastfeed. She admitted the custom was good for her, but she said it was a barbaric, cannibalstic custom." We discontinued reading this book immediately. BEWARE PARENTS: Do you want your young, impressionable children linking breastfeeding with cannabalism. This book is [not to my liking].

Summary: Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep isn't a bit tiring
Review: I loved Ella Enchanted so I was glad to find Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep. I really like the twists Gail Carson Levine puts on the traditional fairy tales. The book is interesting because it explains Princess Sonora's life before she falls asleep. She's like a real person even though it is a fairy tale. She doesn't just sit around and let things happen to her. She takes charge of her life so she can live happily ever after on her own terms. I haven't read the other Princess Tales but after reading this book I will be sure to.

Summary: Great
Review: I loved this book, being a fan of fairytales this one brings out a light twist I love. Great, for children of all ages, definentally a must read bedtime story. It has humor, action, and as all fairy tales end, a great ending! You must read this book for it will keep you smiling the whole way through!

Summary: Humorous and romantic
Review: I loved this book. I thought that some of it was hilarious. I accidently giggled during a test when I was reading this! The end is sooo cute, and when you find out who she marries, you'll laugh why!!! This book might be for people younger than I am, but I thought it was GREAT!!!

Summary: Really Great
Review: Of all of the "The Princess Tales" novellas, "Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep" was the first I read, and most likely my favorite. "Sleeping Beauty" has never been so amusing. I liked the original story but never truly loved it. I found this book to be a delightful presentation, putting it in a whole new light for me. Now I do love the story. Here, the token Sleeping Beauty is intelligent from the get-go. As a baby, she is granted her gifts by various fairies who attempt to out-do each other, each fairy trying to bestow a better trait than the fairy before her. The parents fumble, the prince is a dud, and the princess rocks the house. Read it now. May it breathe new life into an old tale for you as it did for me.

Summary: Levine's not slacking off since Ella Enchanted...
Review: Some authors let their books go after the first successful one - but not Gail Carson Levine. This retelling of Sleeping Beauty is priceless. The original details are still there, but some more are added on, and they don't make it worse at all.

They way she puts things is light and funny, but the only quarrel I have with this book is that it's too short. All of the Princess Tales are, but I wish she'd made it a little longer; I finished it in half an hour, and I'm not a speed reader.

Summary: Not a sleeper!
Review: This book was really enjoyable, just like all of the Princes Tales books. However, I have found that they are really for children that are reading books in between the levels of easy and advanced. The author describes the characters, setting, and plot so well, that I never wanted to put the book down. I was in it so deeply that read it in 1 1/2 hours. The simple, yet engaging plot is welcoming and will keep you right there. also, the beautiful art that was put into the cover and book is wonderful. The price is worth it.
