Rating: Summary: timely topic Review: This is an excellent story for children dealing with the loss of a loved one, as many children are experiencing since the events of September 11, 2001. A little snake discovers and loves a beautiful flower in a field and dusts its petals and protects it from a roaming chicken. The snake leaves the flower one night only to realize that a sheep has eaten it while it was sleeping. The snake feels horrible. This book is especially good for children who may be feeling that things are their fault. It just occurs to me as I write this, that this book may also be helpful for children going through a divorce.
