Rating: Summary: Two thumbs up to a book greater than Harry Potter! Review: I found "Scrub Dog of Alaska" a very interesting book. The story took place in Alaska. When Scrub was a puppy he was owned by a man called Smiley Jackson. Jackson did not like Scrub. Jackson raced dogs for a living and Scrub was not a good race dog when he was young. After a while Jackson let Scrub go in the woods Jackson alomost killed Scrub in the process. This book showed a very strong relationship between a dog that needed help and a boy that needed a companion after loseing his family. The strong part of the book was in the beginning and the end. The book did seem to drag a bit middle.Overall it was a very good book I strongly reccomend it...
Rating: Summary: Love and Honor Review: Scrub Dog of Alaska By: Walt Morey This is a "Two-Thumbs Up" book, which is excellent for children, of all ages. But mainly for those who have never experienced the thrill of dogsledding or owning sled dogs. Both owner and companion, fighting for their survival, and for the hope of finding each other. A dog, found wounded and close to death, only saved by the mere food given to him, Scrub, by Dave Martin, survived, after being attacked by his family pack. Some how, the boy and this animal, find love in each other. Both, having broken their leg, spent their time wasted, but when finding each other, they begin adventures, broken leg, or no broken leg. Only one person can come in the way of this incredible friendship, Smiley Jackson, Scrub's previous owner, who "culled" him as a young puppy. But Smiley Jackson is going to learn that it takes more then a hot-temper and a whip to keep these two friends apart! The best book I have ever read
Rating: Summary: A great book the whole family will enjoy! Review: This is one of the greatest books I've ever read, and I'm sure you will enjoy it,too. It's about a poor mistreated dog named Scrub. This name was given to him by the whole town of Aurora because he was always scavenging the houses' garbage cans for food. Then a boy named David Martin comes along and rescues the dog. David is just about the only person Scrub learns to trust. This is a wonderful book that shows the great, unbreakable bond between dog and his master. It's so good you won't want to put it down. I love this book!
