Rating: Summary: No Problem! -- Fun and Effective! Review: I teach fourth grade and have used this book for over a year. The kids love it, and so do I. The reproducables take the kids step by step through 8 different techniques for problem solving for what the National Council of Mathematics calls "Exemplars." Each of the 8 techniques (guess and check, making chart, working backwards, etc.) has a set of 5 problems plus a bonus problem, giving a full week's worth of practice, then there are many additional problems the teacher can use. AND -- each problem is explained -- not just the answer, but step by step how to approach and solve the problem. I highly recommend the book as a supplement for grades 4-6 math classes.
