Rating: Summary: I recommend this for RCIA classes and for family rosary time Review: For years I have been looking for just the right book to introduce the Catholic faith and the Rosary to people who are new to both. This book is it. It is beautifully illustrated, on high quality paper, and very simply and profoundly presents a step by step method for praying the Rosary while meditating on the mysteries and the scriptures. If you have always wondered what the Rosary has to do with the Christian faith or the Bible, or you are just learning the faith and traditions of the Christian religion, this is an excellent book for meditation and prayer. Directors of Religious Education, Youth Ministers, Catechists, Pastors, and those involved in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) or Children (RCIC) will find this an invaluable text to be used in your classrooms. Parents will also find this holds the attention of even the most restless children when praying the Rosary at home.
Rating: Summary: An excellent way to share the Rosary with your children! Review: This is also an excellent book for anyone who wants to learn to pray the Rosary. The illustrations are beautiful and thoughtfully done. The layout of the book was chosen carefully to help children and those just learning the Rosary to concentrate on the Sacred Mysteries, rather than struggle to remember what comes next. Each decade of the Rosary is laid out on two facing pages with the full text of the Our Father, Hail Mary (once per decade), Glory Be, and the Fatima Prayer included, so that while you or your children's hearts are still learning these prayers you aren't distracted by the need to recall them. The accompanying Scripture texts teach about the Mysteries themselves and draw one deeper into prayer and meditation. The only drawback is the size of this book. I wish there was a smaller version that I could tuck into my chldren's Bibles.
