Rating: Summary: What this book means to me... Review: As a child I used to check this book out of the libarary EVERYTIME I went. I remember crying one week because the only copy available was the one I was returning and they hadn't put it back on the shelf and I couldn't take it home. My best friend and I would read and re-read this book. We just loved the bunny kicking, rolling, and jumping on the egg and then the same happening to him when he fell asleep and the egg hatched. The bunny and duck became best friends, I met my best friend through reading this book in 1965 and we are still best friends today. I cried when my mom gave me and my friend copies of this book a couple of years ago as a gift.
Rating: Summary: The classics are always the best! Review: I loved this book as a child and was delighted to see that it's still around. Leonard Weisgard's rich illustrations are wonderful, and I'm still charmed by the story of the bunny and the egg. It's great to be introducing this book to a new generation of nieces and nephews!

Rating: Summary: Mommy, Read it again.... Review: I read this book to my little brother over a hundred times! Now - waiting to get my copy for my daughter. She loves bunnies and I know that she'll want to hear the story again -and again.
Rating: Summary: Read 100 times Review: I read this over 100 times to my daughter when she was little. I also read it that many times when I was a child. I love this book and any books by Margaret Wise Brown. Also read the Whispering Rabbit and loved it.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful For Young Children Review: I read this to my 2 year old niece every time I see her. We have a different edition, I think, and the pictures are simply beautiful. The text is such that my niece can easily follow along and even remembers certain parts by heart. It is a wonderful story that really captures and holds the attention of a young child. A simply wonderful story.
Rating: Summary: A good Passover book, too! Review: Just want to add -- bunnies and ducks, eggs and springtime flowers are great images for Pesach, too...
Rating: Summary: Wonderful For Young Children Review: My grandparents gave me a copy of this book for my first Easter, in 1960. My mom says I loved it, then my subsequent siblings, nephews, and nieces loved it some more. My old, "well-loved" copy is literally falling apart.Every night in the last month, my 17-month-old has wordlessly gone to her bookshelf, grabbed my old book and plopped into my lap to read her favorite book. If she is reluctant to finish getting ready for bed, all I have to do is show her the book, and she quickly waddles over and plops down. But tonight when she opened my old book, the pages weren't there ... they'd all fallen out ... even with all the years' accumulation of tape. With some trepidation, I logged on after she was in bed, hoping to find at least an old copy with a used-book seller through Amazon (a handy feature that has helped out in similar situations.) I was thrilled to find it had been reissued. We'll add a new layer of tape to the old one to hold on until the new copy arrives. We'd like to thank the publishers and Amazon ... I suspect the new copy will be in a similarly "loved" state in another 40 years.
Rating: Summary: Sweet, sweet story! Review: This is a cute little story about a sleepy little bunny who needs a friend, and the chick that finds him. This would be a great springtime gift for a younger child. The illustrations are very nice and it is written in language that the youngest children can understand. I recommend it for children ages 2 - 5.
Rating: Summary: What this book means to me... Review: This is a wonderful book! As a young immigrant child some 30 years ago this was one of the first books I ever read and thoroughly digested. Simple and touching, this should be a required book in every child's repertoire. The sooner the better!
