Rating: Summary: A fun book about getting along Review: The situation is all too familiar -- two next door neighbors just don't get along and go out of their way to make life difficult. The man (the bowtie-wearing Mr. Persnickety) doesn't like cats and his neighbor (the Cat Lady)has a houseful of them. One day, the man's house is invaded by mice. He tries traps, but the mice are too smart. Finally, the man swallows his pride and asks the Cat Lady if he can borrow the cats. The cats go next door and do what cats do best. When the Cat Lady rounds up her cats to take them home, the man thanks her and introduces himself (he's not really Mr. Persnickety). She, in turn, tells him her name (it's not really the Cat Lady). The two then become real neighbors. Author/illustrator Paul Brett Johnson has put together a picture book that makes you laugh while it teaches a lesson in acceptance.
