Review: This book intrigued me because I didn't grow up in California, and so only know it as an adult. It's a wonderful collection of tales ranging geographically from the redwoods to Mexico, historically from the old west to present day, and topically from fun adventures to environmental concerns to adolescent insights. Though sold as a children's book, this collection of short stories and poetry will rekindle memories of discovery and growth in readers a "few" years past childhood. Had I read it as a pre-teen, it would have sparked my interest in the "California Coast" for all the right reasons.
