Description:

Project management software can be very complex, theoretical, and difficult to manage, but Microsoft Project 98 is probably the easiest software tool to use among the choices. IDG's Microsoft Project 98 Bible is a systematic and comprehensive guide to the software, introducing the reader to using the software and digging in to get to the heart of the program's potential.

The book doesn't spend a lot of space explaining the concepts of project management. Instead, it sticks very closely to describing the software interface, how to create and maintain projects, how to write macros, how to use views, and how to deploy the various reporting tools in the software to help keep the project on track.

If you're looking for an abstract guide to organizing projects or theories of the mythical man-month, this is not the book you want. But if you're using Microsoft Project 98 as a bread-and-butter application and want some very concrete and detailed, practical examples of how the software can be used for project management, then this book is biblical indeed.
