Rating: Summary: An Inspiring Book Review: This really was a great book. I saw it on a bookshelf and bought it, thinking it'd be okay, but it was really good. The author seem to know a lot about the Lakota people, and about emotions. I really loved Walks The Fire and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Rating: Summary: STAYED ON OUR LIBRARY'S RESERVE LIST TWO YEARS Review: THIS SERIES IS WONDERFUL AND SO INSPIRING. OUR PATRONS ARE EAGERLY AWAITING MORE BOOKS BY THIS AUTHOR. TO DATE NO ONE HAS NOT LIKED THIS BOOK AND IT APPEALS TO READERS THAT NORMALLY WOULD NOT READ CHRISTIAN BASED FICTION.
Rating: Summary: Begins Slowly, But A GREAT Read! Review: When a friend loaned me "Walks The Fire", she told me that if I suffered through the first chapter, I would absolutely love this book. She was right! This wonderful story follows a pioneer woman named Jesse King as she travels to a new world and is kidnapped (or rather, rescued) by a Lakota warrior. After saving a deaf toddler, Jesse becomes Walks The Fire, is received by the Lakota women as a fellow sister, and wins the heart of the man she has grown to love. Once you get past the first few pages, you will not be able to put this book down!
Rating: Summary: A tender, believable story of the blending of cultures Review: When Jessee King loses her infant son and her husband she is suddenly thrust into the life of an Indian woman. Instead of despair, she sets about to make the best of it, learning to love again in the process. Her faith and the Bible are key to her sanity and happiness. Even though there is much sadness and tragedy in this warm story, there is faith and perseverance as well. Rides the Wind is a wonderful Indian Christian husband and father. It is so sad that he never got to meet his daughter. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of books 2 and 3.
Rating: Summary: If you like what you read on the back cover Review: You will love what is on the inside. This book has everything it promises on the back cover. My mother and daughter both enjoyed it and although it is Christian Fiction and very romantic it was not a silly book.I rarely read a book for the second time but I an now reading the whole series over.I just wish we could see a movie of it now.
