Summary: delightful!
Review: Eva Marie's series is fabulous. I couldn't wait to find the time to read the next page. I fell in love with Katie and hope there are plans to read more of her. Eva Marie's 3 books in this series is filled with exciting plot twists, suspense, and drew me closer to the Lord, plus making me even more appreciative of my wonderful husband. These books are delightful!

Summary: Suspense-filled drama
Review: Everson and Chadwick have once again written a suspense-filled drama in their sequel, Summon the Shadows. Their behind the scenes look at a world unknown to most Christians evoke a predictable variety of emotions: anger, disgust, pity, compassion, hopefulness-while they weave yet another unpredictable fiction plot. The haunting question throughout the book keeps the reader hoping for an answer at the end: "What REALLY happened to Ben, Katie's beloved husband? Is he really dead? Clues say "maybe not," but reality says, "probably so." Will the three call girls ever make it in the "real" world? Can Katie hold out and hold on to the inner strength and faith she has found? You may have to wait until the very end to get any glimmer of an answer to those questions. Which opens the door to yet another sequel......

Summary: Summon the Shadows
Review: I must say that Eva Marie Everson and G.W. Francis Chadwick have creatively carried on the saga of Katie Webster's life. What an evolution from where Katie was in her life in the beginning and mid point of book one (a must read!!). I especially like the fact that Katie has turned to God for comfort and strength in the "loss" of her husband Ben. Katie has grown from an insecure troubled young woman to one that is in control and command of her life. Her dedication to some young women and also to carry on what her husband and his family worked so hard to build is truly a story of hope, love, a desire to succeed and most important, a trust that Ben will be back. This sequel was full of surprises that left me wanting to read a little more before putting the book down. I eagerly await the next sequel.

Summary: Summon the Shadows
Review: I was ready for the sequal to "Shadow of Dreams" the moment I finished the book! I thought for sure the next one could not be anymore exciting or intriguing. Well I was wrong. Everson and Chadwick again bring intersting characters to life and weave a story that keeps you guessing with each turn of the page! The last pages DEMAND a third book!By now I feel like Katie and Marcy, two of the main characters, are my best friends too! Plus, there still reamins that original unanwsered question from the first book:Where is Ben and what really happened? If you have not read "Shadow of Dreams" don't miss out on the fun, get it AND "Summon The Shadows!"

Summary: They've done it again!
Review: It's fun to see writers grow in their craft. Everson and Chadwick have done just that and the reader benefits.

Summon the Shadows is a fast paced read picking up where their popular book, Shadow of Dreams, leaves off. I liked the development of Katie's character and how, with God's help, she was able to take over the posh hotel after her husband's disappearance. Skillfully-written fiction can teach many life lessons, and through Katie, we learn that we can grow through our grief and shattered lives.

Some readers prefer the more obvious Christian fiction, but I loved the carefully woven message of God's love, strength, and hope intertwined with real-life characters and situations. This is a book I feel comfortable suggesting to non Christians because I know they won't be turned off by an excessive amount of "God talk," yet they will be able to find Him in the carefully chosen words.

I loved the way they wove the tragic events of September 11 into the story. The authors used the events as a way of showing character growth and helping us understand that we all need to do something in the face of unspeakable evil.

The plot is easy to follow but leaves enough clues so that when the surprising punch line is delivered we're not disappointed.

Summon the Shadows is an entertaining read that shouts, "We're a new breed of Christian fiction." Life is full of twists and turns and Everson and Chadwick do an excellent job of showing the One who will get us through what can be a terrifying maze.

Summon the Shadows is an excellent read with outstanding dialogue, believable characters, and an interesting plot. I'm looking forward to the next installment and finding resolution to the questions so expertly posed in the epilogue.
