Rating: Summary: Encouraging scriptures in time of need Review: I fortuitously came across this book as I was looking for another one at the book store; and am thankful that I was guided to it. I have had many years battling a difficult physical condition and had to deal with other life struggles such as dire financial problems, the fragile mental health of a loved one and the death of another. In times when it feels almost impossible just to face another day, this book has guided me to scriptures to help me through whatever I am facing. The book is divided into various sections such as Guidance, Strength, Grief, Hope, Peace, Love, etc., prefaced by a very short inspirational "story" on the entitled section. The translation of the scriptures that is used is the New International Version which retains the beauty of the King James Version without the often archaic language that can sometimes veil the meaning. It is quick and to the point which gives you the comfort and inspiration when you need it, especially when the Bible is not handy . However, it does give you the scripture so that at a later time if you desire, you can return to the Bible for further study. It is a small and pretty book that can be easily taken with you wherever you go. I have purchased this book for my mother and many friends and recommend it to all. In times of thanks or tribulation I recommend this book highly.
