Review: This is a good basic work on the topic for the educated beginner. It's historical and, while not hostile to the Christian Churches, the author is willing to point out the failings in the Christian Churches' attempts to refor. Also useful is the author's discussion about how reform has meant different things at different times. It's also a great source of other important works on the topics discussed in the book.
