Gospel of Luke (New Testament Commentary)

Review: In my recent study of the book of Luke, I found two commentaries to be extremely helpful- "J.C. Ryle's Expository Thoughts on the Gospels" (vol II) and William Hendriksen's New Testament Commentary on Luke. Well known for his linguistics ability, Dr. Hendrikson's desire was to understand the intention of scripture and present his interpretation in a clear, concise manner. His occasional inclusion of viewpoints from other commantaries and/or theologians can be somewhat distraction from the focus of the passage. However, his formidable use of the greek text adds a dimension of clarity that captures my own desire to read more of Christ and His saving grace.
