Rating: Summary: Fascinating, scholarly research with a interesting POV. Review: This is a very interesting study for those who find Paul and his style to be, to say the least, slippery. Given strikes a nice balance between comparing, contrasting, and finally synthesizing the perspectives of the reader of the stories/epsitles, the Hellenized auidences, and the Jewish auidences. While this work is replete with comprhesive (interesting but sometimes cumbersome) footnotes, it is still a very interesting read for those with a interest in both the philosophic techniques employed and for those of faith who seek a deeper understanding of Paul.
