Rating: Summary: Sistah to Sistah Review: Sister Strength is a collection of devotions, inspirations and life stories from one sister to another. A wonderful dear loving life-long friend presented me with this book for Kwanzaa as the new Millennium approached, (thanks Dr.George-Harold Jennings), we both new I needed to roll into 2000 with the love of my sistahs and my Lord! These daily meditations give sisters the opportunity to breathe that sweet breath of life and know that they are loved, and revered for the contributions we make daily through individual and collective efforts. I encourage sisters young and old to melt into these pages, to laugh , to cry and to know that our creator smiles on us every day, just because, "That which you are seekin is seeking you"..p. 49, SISTER STRENGTH! Thank you Rev. Dr. Suzan Johnson-Cook.
Rating: Summary: Very inspirational for all women from all walks of life. Review: The devotional offers a compilation of experiences from a diverse group of African American women who come from many walks of life. You do not have to be African American to experience its spiritual and heart-warming value. What I enjoyed most is that there were many pieces I could personally relate to. Those that I could not personally relate to I could share with a friend who could but still be enriched by the works in and of themselves. It is wonderful to read a devotional that is so personal because it allows you to reflect on your life and that of your friends and family. The contributors reveal themselves when sharing their experiences. Sister Strength is a great follow up to Rev. Johnson-Cook's "Sister to Sister". Great for the bedside!
