Summary: Teachings of Jesus in Retreat Format
Review: Fonseca, a licensed counselor and spiritual director, has presents this work as a retreat centered on discipleship as a lifestyle patterned on the teachings and power of Jesus. The six chapters summon us to follow Jesus faithfully; be refreshed and restored; find completion in his Holy Spirit; stand by his side; live prayerfully; and reflect his image day by day.

Each chapter begins with a "conference" of 5 to 9 pages exploring the topic through reflection on scripture. Each chapter ends with 10 exercises made up of a scripture passage, a summary, and a meditation session of 20-30 minutes. This is a rich resource for individuals and groups. The material is flexible enough that it lends to anything from occasional prayer to an ongoing series over several months.

Summary: A moving and thought-provoking exploration
Review: Loving In The Master's Footsteps: God's Dream For Us is a testimony of faith. Written as a sequel to Living in God's Embrace, Loving In The Master's Footsteps searches for ways in which one can love and devote oneself wholeheartedly. Chapters are supplemented with excerpts from scripture, presented first in literal translation, then summarized to be more accessible to the lay reader, then enhanced with a suggested session to reflect upon one's faith and relationship with Jesus, and ending with a poignant reflection. A moving and thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be Christian.
