Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The trompe l'oeil
Review: The New Testament has traditionally been thought of as a peace producing text. These texts, however, also contain violent passages. Depending on how you read the New Testament, you can find both violent and peace-producing passages; similar to an optical illusion where in one view you see two faces, and in another you see a vase. Desjardins highlights violent and peaceful passages, and concludes that the New Testament advocates both peace and violence.
