Summary: A practical guide for deepening your relationships
Review: The capability to love is learned in stages... Attraction is the starting point toward a deeper, more spiritual connection with your partner. Self-less love for all (family, friends, neighbors, even enemies) can be learned and practiced, with the guidance of learned people and writings like this book. The view that the love we experience in our life is a gift from God opens opportunities for us to be kind and let ourselves be loved. "The Gift of Love" is a collection of short essays on quotations from the Bible concerning love, that can be read in any order. The interpretation is given from a Christian Orthodox perspective, keeping alive today the intense spirituality experienced by the early Church, during Roman persecutions and the various predatory invasions that swept Eastern and Western Europe in the Middle Ages. This book brought to my attention I Corinthians 13 :-)
