Review: As a poet and lover of words, I find myself looking for visual stimulation. This special book surprised me with it's raw beauty. Nothing is more sacred than Nature. And Laurie Bohlke has created a special gift for the "tenderest" of us. I have to admit that I do not keep it with my "coffee table" books, but next to my best friends; the Dictionary and Thesaurus.

Review: Reading and rereading Prayers through the Seasons is like taking long relaxing walks outdoors on beautiful days. Its calming and uplifting prayers are perfectly matched with powerful photographs of God's natural handiwork, and inspire the reader to feel, in the words of one of its prayers, " Alive in this beautiful world, alive on this magnificent day". I use it as part of my daily devotions, and believe it makes a wonderful gift for friends and family.

Review: The beautifully composed Christian prayers of The Reverend Deborah Kaiser-Cross coupled together with the magnificent nature photography of David Middleton are absolutely breath-taking. Just by picking up the book and casually thumbing through it, the reader immediately is caught up in the awe-inspiring beauty of the photos, from the mountains to the sea, from the farmlands to the city, from the creatures of the wild to the Christmas lights twinkling in a country cottage. And then the prayers accompanying each are pure prose, giving gratitude and thanks to our God, inspiring the reader to look beyond self and in gratitude hand over the joys, the problems, the cares and concerns of the days and years to the Holy One.

I've seen it happen again and again as men and women pick up this book from a display just to see what it's all about, and be caught up firstly by the sheer beauty of God's creation and then jolted by the artistry of the prayers.

A wonderful and timely publication to lead us prayerfully as we consider our own personal lives and the events of the world, especially since September 11.

Review: While I was at a local book store I saw and purchased a copy of "Prayers through the Seasons". I found that the photographs of the photographer David Middleton, who by the way was a major contributor to "The Nature of America", added emphasis to the prayers of Reverend Deborah Kaiser-Cross.

It is a wonderful bond of photography and short prayers. Each adds emphasis to the other. Definately of coffe table quality.
