Summary: Unique Prespective on Mormon History
Review: This book offers a new way of looking at the history of the Mormon Church. Most Mormons have heard the story of Joseph Smith and the founding of the Church. They have probably heard stories of Brigham Young and the pioneers. This book moves away from telling stories of Church history and helps you understand what was going on in the United States and the world during 200 years of Church history (1800-2000). It's fascinating to see who was President of the United States when the Church was organized, and what kind of problems and challenges that LDS Church members and leaders had that were related to problems and challenges that the United States was having. The perspectives that this book offers, from the founding of the Church through the administration of President Gordon B. Hinckley, are eye opening. You will never look at Church history in the same way again!
