Summary: The Bible Teaches Magick!
Review: For anyone who was raised by or around fundamentalist Christians who insisted anything psychic, mystical, or magickal was anti-Bible and anti-Christian, this book is a welcome clarification. Martin does a thorough and excellent job of taking us through the Bible and showing us, instance by instance, the many times when psychic and magickal gifts where used by god-fearing Jews and Christians with full approval from the Christian God. He also shows the times when these things were NOT approved of by Deity and when and why they should be avoided, giving us a refreshing biblical model for magickal work that neither accepts every "sign and wonder" unilaterally as the work of God, nor condemns miraculous "gifts of the Spirit" as the fruit of the devil because of a few misunderstood verses regarding witches and soothsayers (not to mention the left-over politics of a medieval era). I'm willing to forgive the clunky prose and give this book a full five stars because Ted Martin was courageous and skilled enough to finally offer the religious community a much-needed dose of spiritual reason.

Summary: yes~ but,
Review: of coarse being a psychic myself, i know of all of the metaphysical happening thousands of years ago. but~ i am jewish, and don't refer to the king james bible. a lot of folks don't read it. i have a tanakh, the jewish bible. so~ just living my own life i know what exists and what did, but the kabalah is plum full of the stuff! as well as the fact that all of these things go on right now in this time. we have present time masters here now also. i agree with the basic idea being put across with this book, but i would not refer to the king james bible.

Now Ted Martin makes it easy for me to explain where I get my beliefs from. I have found this a wonderful educational tool for Christians to understand the Bible in ways that are ignored or overlooked by the mainstreem. Thanks Ted
