Summary: Important reference notes removed
Review: I was really looking forward to receiving my new Pilgrim Bible becuse I have used an older version for a long time and had thought that this new version would expand and improve the already excellent notes and references. However, I was very upset when I recieved the New Pilgrim Bible, becaue the editors had not expanded the notes, but in fact had eliminated all references to the Gifts of the Spirit, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, and other references related to the supernatural work of God. My first thought was to write the publisher, then thought better of it since they are the ones who have out these important notes and did not add any new notes that I could see on my brief review. In the book of Acts the speaking in tongues at Pentecost and other examples later in the new Church were ignored. Why? Even if you are not Pentecostal these are facts that are in the Bible and cannot be ignored by any scholar.

I strongly recommend that you do not purchase this Bible if you are interested in scholarly or Spirit led notes and comments.

Summary: Great buy, nice leather and good notes.
Review: This is an excellent Bible with helpful notes. I hate when the notes in a study Bible take up too much of a page, this isn't the case with the NPB. I also suggest the 'Old' Scofield Bible.
