Summary: A thought-provoking book - very moving and inspiring!
Review: Jaki and Jim Parlier accepted the challenge to bring God's Word to the Managalasi people in Papua New Guinea, who lived in constant fear of evil spirits. Coming from America, the change of lifestyle and culture was huge and Jaki honestly recounts how she struggled to come to terms with it all. Unwelcome at first, there was much heart-ache, sadness & difficult toil. Little of God's power and love seemed to get through to the people, and real friends were very few. Often Jaki wished to leave and never come back, but over the years she found it growing more like home in her heart. She saw how God taught and disciplined her as He used her as an ambassador to the Managalasi despite all her unbelief & weaknesses.

After 20 years the New Testament was translated, after God had poured hope into the lives of a community once built on fear, and he had graciously used his own faltering children - Jaki and Jim - to do it.

All interested in God & World Mission must read this. Honest & inspiring.
