Summary: Begruzzled
Review: I am a 12-year-old Wiccan practitioner, and am hurt by the continuation of myth and legend throughout the Christian society today. I think those of us who are considering this book might consider this: Perhaps you are working too hard on digging up dirt on us, instead of finding the understanding of the other culture that Wiccans have held for so many centuries.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: please educate yourself before reading this book
Review: i have not read this book, adn i do not claim to know any more about it than what is said in the synopsis. I am, however, a Witch, a practiaoner of the religion Wicca. I have never "attacked" anyone, nor have i ever put a spell on someone, nor do i plan to. Wiccans cannot hurt anyone, this is the only real rule of this relgion. I'm not saying that the author is wrong, but that they are probably referring to satanic cults, or something similatr, not witchcraft. Witchcraft does not equal satanism. Please do a little research before making the assumption that what is said in this book is true. I would recommend reading some book such as "the Spiral Dance", by Starhawk, or "The truth about Witchcraft Today", by Scott Cunningham. Or just email me, and i'll answer any questions you have (no attempts to help me find the Lord, thank you, it would be a waste of my time and yours. Fogmoon@usa.net

Summary: I think it's great
Review: I haven't read this book. i don't want to. but as a practicing wicca, i find it very disturbing that someone could write a book about wiccans, and claim we attack people...if this person had done their research, they would have known that wiccans do not do magick to hurt people..we believe in the law of return, so attacking people wouldn't be wise...i'm very hurt that people still think wiccans are evil...

Summary: I think it's great
Review: I think this book is great. I got into witchcraft a while ago, and now I know its wrong. I think people need to write more books like this one!

Summary: I think im the only Level headed Wiccan alive
Review: I've been a "non-practicing" wiccan for several years now. What that means is i belive in the overall concepts of wicca (as expoused mainly by Cunningham) but i do not observe the Sabbats , etc in any formal way.

The problem with this book is its implication that "all" Wiccans are up to no good. This premise being supported (although weakly) that Wicca has its roots in Demonology disquised as "Earth Lore". While it may be true that some facets of wiccan thought have been filtered through some of the darker sides of occult, it is NOT true that wicca is about evil.

One of the problems with this is that there is SOME validity to the arguments put fourth in this book, something that the average wiccan would just denounce as "Chirstian Idiocy". But, that validty, is hard to justapose with the fact that almost without excpetion , wiccans do not belive in the trinity (christian) nor the Satan concept.

So even if a large percentage of wiccan documentation WAS based on writings of the "followers of set" it would be a non-issue for wiccans as they dont belive in the existance of a Satan/Bezzulbub ect.

This argument is heavly based on ones viewpoint, its not black and white as both wiccans and/or christans would like to tell us.

If the "Christian" concpet of evil does exist, then, we wiccans may be practicing what, in their view, has its roots in "evil". Although we , ourselves dont have any ill -will toward anyone. A large percentage of the people that worked on the A-Bomb had no CLUE what they work working on.

Then again, the almost Irrational insistance on the "one and only true god" with ZERO hard evidence (the "just look around at the world" argument notwithstanding) gets tiresome. As if it is not even remotely POSSIBLE that the trinitarian concept of god is in error.

This is a sticky issue and not so easly dismissed by either camp.

Summary: Good resource
Review: This is a great resource for people whose attempt to make spirits and the elements their slaves has turned into their own imprisonment. Tells you the good news of spiritual freedom.

Summary: *sniff sniff* Peeyoo! >_<
Review: What a load of bull! I wonder why the people who rate these things leave themselves anonymous, for fear of being (horrors!) wrong! Good god. If you want a good laugh, go read Garfield. This is one of the people similar to those in the Inquisition, who got beheaded for a headache, because 'demons were in their head', and roasted their children and babies to 'burn the demons out of them'. Oh, and one more thing: you'll go to HELL for wearing your shoes backwards. (sarcasm!)

Summary: what an awful person
Review: You know the rest of the title. I have been a practicing witch for only a short time but I have been researching Wicca since I was in the Third grade (I was 8 when I started to research wicca.) And All I have to say is SHAME ON YOU! How DARE someone right a book about something that they have NO understanding of! I haven't read the book, and judging from the synopsis, I don't even WANT to! It's books like this that make parents skeptical on whether or not a teen witch is good! Sure, there are those "power hungry" witches out there, but not ALL of us are! Stereotypes suck, and we are one of the biggest stereotypes of all, and this book is as heck ain't helping!
