Summary: Not your KidsWB Yu-Gi-Oh!
Review: Before "Yu-Gi-Oh!" was a game or a cartoon, it was a Japanese comic book series. This book contains the very early, uncensored stories of how Yugi completed the Millennium Puzzle, thus releasing the spirit within, and how he met his friends. I would definately recommend this book to the "Yu-Gi-Oh" diehard or a manga fan.

However, if you are a parent thinking of buying this book for your child, there are things to consider. For one thing, none of the stories from the cartoon are here. Those stories appeared much later in the comic book series. More importantly, this book is rated for young teens. There is mild cussing, silly school boys peeking at girls' panties antics, and some of the stories are pretty violent. For example, there is a person who burns to death and another one who gets blown up.

I think it would be a good idea for a parent to look through a copy of this book first and decide whether or not this book would be appropriate for his/her child.

Summary: the real yugioh
Review: Few no this but these were suposed to come before all the other episodes. It's realy good. If you have played dungeon dice monsters for GBA you see some of the carachters from it like AD Archie and Jackpot. It's best for kids 10 and up.

Summary: Better Than Bitter Battle Books
Review: Folks: aren't you tired of more of the same old, same old --- overmuscled roboheros in tights and grimaces, punching each other harder and more smashingly on every page?

Yeah, me too.

Yugi, the protagonist of this series, is a small kid in a big school, pushed around by the big kids and other dangers. All he has to help him is his friends (almost as powerless as he), a few adults (who don't really understand), and his basic good nature (... which occasionally goes astray ...)

Just as in real life, too often these assets are not enough for justice to prevail. Fortunately, Yugi has a little extra: a magic puzzle that metes out, not revenge, but a punishment to fit the crime. And what could be a greater punishment than making an evil grown-up play nicely with a kid?

It's much better than "BAM! SMASH!" comix; imagine "The Mikado" with adolescents.

Summary: For an older crowd....
Review: Hey,
when i first started watching Yu-Gi-Oh, i was amazed at the plots, the characters, and the battles! After awhile, i felt like something was missing, something that might be more then just what Kids WB was showing. So i looked into it, and found out that they dub and edit out important parts of the show! And that they skipped the first season completely! i was mad!
Then i found out that the manga(japanese for comic) had everything in it! so i rushed out and bought this book. If you ever wanted more Yu-Gi-OH, you must get this graphic novel! It starts from when Yugi first finishes the Millenium Puzzle, and goes from there!
The only thing is that this isn't your children's book like you would assume. It had violence, gore, and death! OMIGOSH! What you would never see on Kids WB, you can get now! So buy it today! (I can't wait for the next one to come out...)

Summary: Not for anyone under 13!
Review: Hey. I bought this manga thinking it would be similair to the show. I was wrong. It's an excellent story ( unlike the show), but not only did it contain a fair amount of profanity, it was also surprisingly violent. Yugi does not turn into Yami Yugi to duel, but to torture his enemies...

Summary: Quite a Surprise (in a good way!)
Review: I became a fan of the YGO TV series through my younger brother, and not until recently did I learn about the manga. So I figured, Why not check it out?

I went here on Amazon, and I read some of the reviews that talked about how the manga is a lot different from the TV show, and how the manga is geared towards an older audience. As one who often gets frustrated by the dumbing-down of the show for a little kid audience, I thought, Well maybe this will be cool.

Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It is definitely for a more mature audience (more violence and innuendoes) than the show, which was a definite improvement. I also liked the characters of Yugi, Anzu (Tea), and Jou (Joey) a whole lot better (on the TV show, those characters get on my nerves). In addition, there was no mention of Duel Monsters whatsoever, which for me was an enormous plus: the TV show focuses too much on the card game and not enough on the characters. Instead, there are "Shadow Games" that are very imaginative and very cruel for the loser.

I lent my copy to one of my friends who laughed at me for watching YGO, and she too said she couldn't put it down. And then she read the second one too, and probably will read the rest. So even if you don't like YGO, or if you know nothing about it, then you can appreciate this book. It's not excellent literature (hence the 4 star rating), but it is definitely worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone above the age of 10.

Review: I have always loved the show of yu-gi-oh so of course I was excited when this came out...and I was not dissapointed. I personnaly think it is better then the show because the show skipped a season. Some might think this is too violent, I don`t but for those who do I say 10 and up.

All in all this novel is just plain sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Summary: Yu-Gi-Oh
Review: I like it. It's different than the show but its neat its not about Duel Monsters and thats good. You get to know the characters more and see how Kazuki Takahashi designed the characters not what how they changed it for the dub (dont get me wrong I love the english tv show Yu-Gi-oh)I think the novel thing its funny and like whats going to happen and the different Shadow Games and how Joey and became friends with Yugi and how Tristan starts to be friends with Yugi its great I think it should be long though cuz I'm a big Yu-Gi-oh fan and I read it real fast

Summary: I love it!!!!
Review: I love this book. Once i brought i keep reading it untill it's
done. Now I'm saving money to buy volume number two. I have to argreed it is violent but I don't mind eventhough i'm 12 years old. Yami Yugi persionality is different than the one in cartoon because he's more violent. But he is still my favorite character. He's still show ambitious,
determined, and courage. Well anyway you have to buy this book. The stories just kept getting better and better any second. Once you read you can't stop.So my idea is just go out to the nearest book store or right now and buy it!!!!
